Charitable donations welcome

The Henley Half Marathon and 10K events have been cancelled this year due to the Covid19 crisis.

Instead, in aid of the local Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub, the Rotary Clubs of Henley-on-Thames are challenging runners to run part of the course and record their time.

The Henley Half Marathon and 10K runs are organised by the

two Henley Rotary Clubs in aid of charity.

This year the charities will miss out,

so please consider donating your entry fee here instead.

All proceeeds from this challenge will go to the Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub for South Oxfordshire

The route for this challenge, which forms part of the course of the Henley Half Marathon, starts at the foot of Ice House Lane – opposite to the entrance to Toad Hall Garden Centre, Marlow Road, Henley  - all the way up the hill, around the small triangle next to Fawley Church and back down to the start. The total distance is about 5.4 k/3.4miles and the increase in elevation from the start to the Church is about 105m/345 feet.

Start by the large chestnut tree and beware riders sign – photo of this and the triangle adjacent to the Church are below.

No marshalling, facilities, goodies or chip timing – just a bit of fun where you can prove how fit you are, continue your training and help us with a donation to charity.

Pease submit your times to

icehousehillchallenge@gmail.com

(along with gender, age and anything else of interest such as running with dog/children etc) which we will then collate and make available to all entrants.

Please be aware that the roads are narrow, so we do not advise running in large groups or in poor light.

All results will be pubished in the Henley Standard
